Phantom’s review: If you can say, "Jumanji in outer space," you have just mentioned Zathura. There is no wonder, since it is A Space Adventure. And... this film is based on a novel by Jumanji creator Chris Van Allsburg, who also is credited with co-screenwriting The Polar Express.

Zathura is about kid brothers, Danny (Jonah Bobo) and Walter (Josh Hutcherson), who find an old board game—a space adventure game (this time the game was in the basement!). Because of sheer curiosity, the kids inadvertently set the game in motion, thereby sending themselves on a trip through space and a hodge-podge of life-threatening challenges.

Needless to say, courage prevails and the kids beat the game. There is a delightful twist before the film ends. This is a must have for all who bought Jumanji. Enjoy!

FYI, check out this special two-disc set that includes Jumanji and Zathura!
